Mechanical Inspector required for our Braintree Precision Components site based in Braintree, Essex.

 

We are looking for a proactive individual to join our Quality Inspection Team to be responsible for checking a wide range of products in production and prior to despatch,

 

Experience of some or all of the following is preferred:

 

  • Previous experience of final inspection and inspection of parts to close tolerances.
  • Use of measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, comparators etc.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Good eye for / attention to detail.
  • Computer literate with good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to identify and report faults clearly and concisely.

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of engineered parts and be able to verify products meet the applicable standards.  Where problems are identified, the Inspector will be required to escalate where appropriate using our internal systems.

 

Hours of Work:

 

Monday - Thursday:     7.30am - 4.00pm

Friday:                            7.30am - 3.00pm

30 minutes lunch and one tea break per day

                                        39 hour week.

Cell Machinist required to work nights at our European Headquarters based in Tiverton, Mid-Devon.

 

 

Previous experience of the following is essential:

 

  • CNC & Conventional Milling, including operation of Hurco, Fanuc, Siemens and Heidenhain.
  • Precision Grinding.
  • CNC Turning / Manual Turning.
  • Inspection Experience.
  • Mechanical skills, including fabrication, cutting and measurement techniques.

SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT LEADER United Kingdom 16/03/2015

Supplier Development Leader required for our European Headquarters based in Tiverton, Mid-Devon.

 

To work within our busy Purchasing Department.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Undertake routine day-to-day Purchasing activities.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor rating system for all suppliers.
  • Perform regular and comprehensive performance reviews across the supply base, through formal supplier review meetings.
  • Identify and implement corrective action plans to improve quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Meet with suppliers to build relationships, undertake quality, performance and cost reviews, and negotiate improvements as necessary.
  • Develop improved Purchasing methods to derive greater department efficiencies.
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturing, sales, R & D and other relevant internal departments to develop optimum supply.
  • Research new products and suppliers, to identify potential improvements in supply, cost or quality.
  • Negotiate and agree contracts, including customer service levels and monitor progress with new and existing suppliers.

Essential Skills and Background:

 

  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Well-developed negotiation skills, ability to help suppliers achieve the Company's goals in cost, performance and quality.
  • Articulate with good face-to-face skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence on all levels, from shop floor to Board Room.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Purchasing / supply chain function.
  • Self motivated, driven and able to set personal targets for supplier improvements.
  • Full UK driving licence, current passport and a willingness to travel.
  • A technical engineering background would be advantageous, but not essential.

 

Hours of Work:

Monday - Friday:     9.00am - 5.00pm, 1-hour for lunch.

35-hour week.

 

A degree of flexibility will be required as the Department is operational between 8.30am - 5.00pm, therefore you may also be required to work the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm on a rotational basis.

Successful candidates will work within the Engineering Training Department and Manufacturing, with skilled staff to gain full on-the-job training.  This will include rotation within all departments of Manufacturing learning specific aspects of the production processes, methods and systems used by HepcoMotion.

 

Candidates will be required to study at Level 4 to achieve an NVQ4 Extended Diploma in Engineering Manufacture and also for a Foundation Degree FdSc Engineering Systems at Bridgwater College on a day-release.

TRAINEE GRINDING OPERATOR United Kingdom 02/03/2015

Trainee Grinding Operator required for our Braintree Precision Components site based in Braintree, Essex.

 

After an initial training period this position will be a permanent night shift (4 nights per week).

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND

 

Ideally we are looking for candidates that have already gained some knowledge of cylindrical grinding principles, although this is not essential.

 

Previous experience of working as part of a team, particularly in an engineering environment would be an advantage.  Similarly the use of pre set meters and gauges to check conformity of the product.

 

We place particular interest in Candidates that are enthusiastic and have a willingness to learn.  BPC have an excellent track record for developing skills within the Grinding Cell and there will be opportunities for the right candidate to be taught the required setting skills to further both their career and earning potential.

 

HOURS OF WORK (after initial training period)

 

Monday - Wednesday:     8.00pm - 6.30am

Thursday:                           9.00pm - 6.30am

39-Hour week.

 

BREAK:

Lunch Break: Monday – Thursday: Half an hour.
