Production Planning Engineer required for our European Headquarters based in Tiverton, Mid-Devon.

 

We are currently looking for a Production Planning Engineer to work in our busy MCS Department.

 

The Role:

 

*     Creating a method of manufacture for customer requirements consitstent with Hepco's manufacturing processes.

 

*     Producing manufacturing drawings; therefore good technical communication skills will be required.

 

*     Interaction with Production personnel at all levels, to ensure orders correctlymanufactured to customer delivery expectations.

 

 

Pre-Requisites:

 

Ideally, candidates will be computer literate and be experienced in the use of Solidworks or similar CAD package, and hold either a Mechanical Engineering qualification or have served a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.  However, full training on all aspects of the Hepco product range, the Syspor computer systems and our manufacturing processes, will be provided.

 

Hours of Work:

 

Monday - Friday:     9.00am - 5.00pm, 1-hour lunch break.

                                                             35-hour week.

 

A degree of flexibility will be required as the Department is operational between 8.30am - 5.00pm, therefore you may also be required to work the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm on a rotational basis.

TEMPORARY PRODUCTION CELL MACHINISTS United Kingdom 10/04/2014

Temporary Production Cell Machinists required for our European Headquarters based in Tiverton, Mid-Devon.

 

We are currently looking for Temporary Production Cell Machinists (Initial 12-week Temporary Contract) to work within our busy Production Department where duties will include:

 

Previous experience of some or all of the following is preferred but not essential as training can be provided:

 

*     CNC & Conventional Milling including operation of Hurco, Fanuc, Siemans and Heidenhain.

*     Precision Grinding.

*     Turning.

*     Fitting / Assembly.

*     Quality / Inspection.

*     Mechanical skills, including fabrication and cutting and measurement techniques.

 

We have night shift patterns available on Temporary Contracts; we are therefore seeking individuals who are flexible and prepared to undertake shift work as the need arises.

 

HOURS OF WORK:

 

Monday - Wednesday:     4.00pm - 2.30am

SENIOR INSPECTOR United Kingdom 09/04/2014

required for our European Headquarters based in Tiverton, Mid Devon.

 

We are looking for an experienced, pro-active Senior Inspector to strengthen the Inspection Team. 

 

THE ROLE:

 

To organise the work flow and quality of a team of inspectors to check products for quality, and to mark and wrap the parts ready for onward shipment to customers. 

 

The successful candidate should have good working knowledge of quality assurance in a busy manufacturing environment, (automotive or aerospace preferred) and be able to organise a team of people to meet agreed targets.  The Senior Inspector will be expected to actively improve the effectiveness of the inspection operations and reduced escapes. 

 

KEY SKILLS:

 

  • Experience of a manufacturing inspection operation.
  • Knowledge of the ISO9001 quality requirements. 
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience of measuring equipment and measuring techniques.
  • Be able to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. 

 

HOURS OF WORK:

 

Monday to Thursday:  

7.30am - 4.30 pm, 30-minutes for lunch.

Friday:

7.30 am - 12.30 pm. no lunch break.  39-hour week.

Auto Lathe Machine Minder / Machine Assistant United Kingdom 03/04/2014

BPC operate a small but extremely busy Turning Department. Key to our Turning operations is a sub cell of predominantly Gridly Multi Spindle Auto Lathes, producing bearing race parts in volume. Subsequently these parts move to an outsourced heat treatment provider before return for finish grinding. Being the first part of the manufacturing cycle the effective running of these machines is crucial to the entire site.

 

THE ROLE:

Currently the Auto Lathes operate on an overlapping early and late shift basis.

The successful candidate will work permanent day shift with the relevant Setters who alternate between early and late shift on a weekly basis.

 

MAIN TASKS:

*     To support the Auto Lather Setter at all times with an emphasis on team working.

*     Patrolling machines that are in cycle particularly when the Setter is conducting machine alterations and adjustments.

*     Loading materials (in bar form) to the Lathes and moving bar stock from the offload point to the machines.

*     Checking key features of parts produced using gauging and meters to ensure component conformity.

*     Ensuring that the working are is kept clean and any oil spills are dealt with appropriately.

*     Palletising finished work in preparation for shipment to Heat Treatments and protecting using waterproof film.

*     Clearing swarf / and chips from machines.

 

ESSENTIAL TO THE ROLE:

*     Excellent eyesight with no history of colour blindness issues (our bar stocks are colour coded to prevent misuse on products).

*     Excellent concentration ability and attention to detail.

 

CANDIDATE PREFERRED QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

*     Previous background of working in a machine shop environment and awareness of Health and Safety considerations.

*     Must be physically fit and able to lift bar stock to machines.

*     Familiar with the use of meters and gauges to check work.

*     Keen to learn and show willingness to work as part of a team.

*     Appreciation of the importance of keeping machinery in operation and the need for vigilance at all times.  Ensuring that running time is optimised on all machines.

*     Previous experience in the use of counter balance forklift vehicles.

 

HOURS OF WORK:

Monday - Thursday:          7.30am - 4.00pm, 30-minute Lunch Break

Friday:                                  7.30am - 3.00pm, 30-minute Lunch Break

                                              39 hour week.
