Five Tiverton apprentices shortlisted for prestigious award

Five talented apprentices who work in Tiverton for linear motion expert HepcoMotion have been shortlisted for prestigious regional apprentice awards at this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.

The apprentices are all in the running for manufacturing apprentice awards. The shortlisted apprentices are:

·         Calum Hutcheon, 19, from Tiverton, first year marketing apprentice at HepcoMotion

·         Jenny Spence, 17, from Tiverton, first year sales apprentice at HepcoMotion

·         Robert Hardie, 25, from Tiverton, final year engineering apprentice at HepcoMotion

·         Steven Anderson, 19, from Minehead, first year engineering apprentice at HepcoMotion

·         Tobias Cowan, 19, from Sampford Peverell, first year engineering apprentice at HepcoMotion

 

They were selected along with apprentices from across the South West after impressing judges with their hard work, dedication and determination to pursue a career in manufacturing.

The apprentices will find out who has been crowned regional winner at a ceremony taking place at the Bristol Science Museum on 6th November. If successful, they will then go on to compete with other regional winners from across the UK for a national title. This will be announced at an awards gala dinner in London early next year.

Jenny Spence, sales apprentice at HepcoMotion, says: “It’s such an honour to have been recognised in this way. I know exactly how much hard work and dedication that every apprentice puts into their apprenticeship so being shortlisted is very special. I can’t wait to meet the other apprentices and see how I get on at the awards ceremony”

Tobias Cowan, engineering apprentice at HepcoMotion, says: “My apprenticeship has opened up so many doors. It has given me an invaluable opportunity to pursue a career in an exciting and vibrant sector where I feel my achievements are valued. I hope other young people can see this and are inspired to pursue a career in manufacturing.”
