HepcoMotion Celebrates National Apprentice Week With An Apprenticeship Open Day

Back

Celebrating National Apprentice Week (6th-10th March), HepcoMotion is holding an Apprenticeship Open Day at its headquarters in Tiverton on Friday 10th March from 10-1pm.  Aimed at students who are leaving college this year and considering applying for an apprenticeship, the open day provides students with an opportunity to come and see for themselves what Hepco’s award-winning apprenticeship scheme offers. Supporting the open day, Tiverton and Honiton MP, Neil Parish, will also be attending.

An informal and informative morning, students will learn about HepcoMotion, a world-leading manufacturer of linear motion systems based in Tiverton. Students will have the opportunity to look around Hepco’s facilities, meet some of their current apprentices and speak to some of their former apprentices, many of who are now in management positions.

Students will also enjoy a tour of the factory, including Hepco’s dedicated apprentice training area where apprentices spend their first year learning engineering skills such as milling, turning, bench fitting, CAD modelling and CNC programming.

HepcoMotion’s Chairman, Giles Forster says “Apprenticeships are at the heart of our company; since our apprentice programme started nearly 25 years ago, we have trained over 130 apprentices.   Apprentices are bridging the skills gap in mechanical engineering and National Apprenticeship Week is a fantastic time to celebrate their success.  We’re keen to recruit our next intake of apprentices to develop and contribute to our growing business.”

With a HepcoMotion Engineering Apprenticeship, apprentices will learn the skills needed to become a fully qualified engineer and begin their career with industry-leading experience behind them.  HepcoMotion offers two apprenticeship programmes; the Advanced programme is for school leavers and the Higher programme is for college leavers.  Over one third of Hepco’s senior management are former apprentices, highlighting the value Hepco place on apprentices.

For those interested in attending, please book a place with Karen Lawrence on 01884 243400 by the 6th March 2017.
