HepcoMotion Award

HepcoMotion is pleased to announce it has been awarded the ‘New Business Employer of the Year’ award from Exeter College for its well-renowned apprenticeship programme. With over 70 different apprenticeships and over 700 young people placed into apprenticeships each year, Exeter College is well placed to know what makes an apprenticeship employer award-winning.  This is a tremendous achievement for HepcoMotion, who have recently partnered with Exeter College to provide the theoretical education to its apprentices.

Former Exeter College student Luke Pearce, Professional Referee for RFU, was the guest of honour for the awards.  Hepco’s first year Advanced Engineering Apprentice Toby Cowan was one of the co-presenters. More than 150 apprentices, employers, key business leaders, friends and family attended the glittering gala event on Tuesday 28th February at Sandy Park Exeter.

Says Maurice Porter, HepcoMotion’s Group Training Manager: “It’s a real honour for Hepco to win this award and to be recognised in this way. Since our training school started nearly 25 years ago, we’ve continued to innovate and expand our programme to ensure that it is industry-leading. We place great value on our apprentices and are delighted to receive this award in recognition.”

Mike Blakeley, Director of Apprenticeships at Exeter College comments: “HepcoMotion have an impressive Apprenticeship recruitment and support for a number of Apprentices across a number of roles. Their work in providing technical training and mentoring for their employees creates highly skilled and motivated young people. Apprentices have a significant role and status within their organisation and meet regularly with their Apprenticeship training manager to discuss progress and innovation of their programme.”

Hepco is currently recruiting for its next intake of apprentices, and is holding an open day on Friday 10th March for those who are interested in applying to come and find out more information. For those interested in attending, please book a place with Karen Lawrence on 01884 243400 by the 6th March 2017.
