HepcoMotion’s Apprenticeship Programme is named as the winner of the Business, Education, Skills and Training Award by PPMA

HepcoMotion is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious PPMA Business, Education, Skills and Training Award (BEST) for its industry leading apprenticeship programme.  Achieving a record number of entries this year, the well-renowned PPMA (Processing & Packaging Machinery Association) Group Industry Awards recognise innovation and celebrate notable manufacturing successes.  The achievement of this award bears testimony to the exceptional training scheme at HepcoMotion for apprentices.

One of Hepco’s first year apprentices, Craig Capel, also scooped the Highly Commended Award in the Apprentice of the Year Award – further reinforcing the high calibre of Hepco’s apprentices.

A world-leading manufacturer of linear motion systems, HepcoMotion prides itself on providing a highly regarded apprenticeship scheme. Its industry leading, well-established programme has trained over 130 apprentices since it started in 1993.  Indeed, many of Hepco’s former apprentices (including the Group Chairman) can be found throughout the organisation, at all levels of seniority from the boardroom down.

Giles Forster, Chairman of HepcoMotion and former apprentice comments:  “We are honoured to have won this award. As a company we highly value apprenticeships as a way of recruiting good people who can go on to work in various parts of the business.  We firmly believe that apprenticeships help to bridge the skills gap and we’re delighted to receive such high recognition from PPMA.”

The prestigious event was attended by over 400 guests and hosted by comedian and TV star Andy Parsons and Sky Sports News anchor Hayley McQueen at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

Maurice Porter, HepcoMotion Group Training Manager comments: “We’re very proud of this award and feel honoured that the judges paid tribute to the high calibre of our apprenticeship programme and commended our commitment to creating the next generation of engineers.”

The award follows Hepco’s latest recruitment of apprentices reaching a record high.  Hepco is committed to the development of young, enthusiastic engineers who have the desire to progress up the career ladder and the addition of eleven new apprentices this year further reinforces this.
