Costing Engineer

The costing engineers role is to calculate the cost of producing a product or part. The cost is calculated using the ERP system to figure out timings of each process. The calculations can be made on existing products, new products and customer special orders.

The costing engineer will receive requests for costings from technical sales/R&D/project engineering/directors. The engineer will then understand the priority of each request and schedule their work accordingly. Using the ERP system and knowledge of similar products, the costing engineer will calculate a cost. The calculated cost will then be communicated to the relevant parties.

• Strong Analytical skills

• Practical problem solving

• Reading technical drawings

• Basic IT skills – MS suite, especially

• Teams/ Excel

• Access

• Using Solid Works (CAD)

• Written and verbal communication skills with team members and the wider manufacturing and planning teams

• Can priories their work workload to meet deadlines set by external departments.

Mon – Fri 9am to 5pm

35 hours per week
