Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Research & Development team as a Design Engineer.
Reporting to the Design Manager, this position will suit an engineer with at least an HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject together with experience in a design/engineering role.
The successful candidate will be able to assist in the creation and documentation of designs using CAD tools, to identify where calculations and tests are required, and to perform and document these calculations and tests.
They will exhibit a degree of technical competence, computer literacy, and have a strong work ethic. They will also have good written and verbal communication skills.
The position will require the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD CAD programs, and experience of these packages would be an advantage, although training will be provided to candidates experienced with other design tools.
Responsibilities:

Assist lead engineer in the development of our product range

Maintenance of design records

Collect, collate and analyse test records

Assist lead engineer to implement agile design practices

Implement and administrate new designs and updates
Hours of Work:
Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm
35 hours per week.
The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible and to work the required hours to succeed in the role.
