Engineering firm HepcoMotion is pleased to announce the launch of a new Traineeship programme offering people the opportunity to learn key engineering skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications in a 16 week intensive training course. Ideally suited to those looking to make the move into engineering, this spearhead programme involves spending three days per week at HepcoMotion gaining on the job training, and two days per week at Exeter College Technology Centre. Sponsored by HepcoMotion, college fees are fully funded.
The first engineering traineeship of its kind in Tiverton, this pioneering programme aptly named ‘Step Into Engineering’ provides a combination of education, training and work experience to prepare people for a career in engineering. Full training will be given on a wide range of machines including CNC machines, a core manufacturing process that use computer programs to control the cutting action of tools to grind, turn and mill.
This traineeship is an ideal opportunity for people who have an interest in engineering but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Full time roles are available for successful candidates and the possibility of further training in HepcoMotion’s award winning apprenticeship programme.
For HepcoMotion this is not just an altruistic gesture, it makes sound business sense. Hepco aims to build a pool of trained people to add vital skills to the growing global company. Indeed, with a well-established apprenticeship programme that has seen many apprentices rise through the ranks to hold many key roles within the organisation, Hepco is well placed to launch this innovative scheme.
Based in Tiverton, HepcoMotion is a world-leading manufacturer of linear motion systems and automation components. Hepco’s products are found within automated machinery in many industries including the automotive, machine tool, pharmaceutical, and packaging industries. A global company, HepcoMotion operates 24/7 with a number of shift patterns to meet the operational needs of the business; flexibility is therefore required.
For those interested in finding out more about the Traineeship programme, Hepco is holding an open day at its headquarters in Tiverton on Friday 8th February from 4pm – 7pm.
