Payroll Administrator

An opportunity to join an industry-leading, customer focused company with a vision of growing our reputation as world leaders in linear motion.

 

Focusing on:

Administration of high volume weekly and monthly payrolls to include all functions in relation to processing of correct payments using Sage 50 and assisting with queries.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of weekly payroll and support of monthly payroll as required.
  • Administration of starter/leaver information.
  • Calculation of statutory payments, accuracy of wages including bonuses, salary increases and overtime.
  • Handling payroll queries.

 

Essentials:

  • Payroll preparation and process, competent in use of Sage 50.
  • Excellent customer service provider with strong communication skills.
  • Highly organised, with ability to work on own initiative and with others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel with the ability to produce spreadsheets/workbooks to a reasonably high standard.

 

Hours of Work:

Monday – Friday: Between the hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm.

21 – 25 hours per week to include Monday and Tuesday.

PLC Controls & Automation Engineer

Objective:

Reporting directly to our General Manager responsible for providing technical advice and guidance, designing control and process circuits and the modification and installation of control systems.  This diverse role will require extensive knowledge of automated machine, robotics and appreciation of machinery safety.

 

Scope: 

  • Ideally with excellent PLC, project management and leadership skills you will be overseeing the day-to-day activities and management of the controls and software bias engineers of varying skills levels you will be required to have an understanding of the programming of PLC software and devices to include Servo motors, Vision systems and other automation devices.
  • A requirement to liaise with customers and undertake customer site visits will be required.
  • PLC/HMI design, installation and commissioning.
  • Providing advise and guidance on nay matters in relation to electrical standards and controls systems to both external and internal customers.
  • Carry out safety audits and risk assessments on all machinery to ensure total compliance and a safe working environment.
  • Designing control and process circuits (low voltage) and producing documentation to accompany each project.
  • Carry out and manage projects / modifications from concept to completion
  • Specification of electrical control components, producing bills of materials and project schedules.
  • Management of personal and projects to timescales and deadlines.
  • Taking responsibility for delivery of software engineering work products according to cost, quality and operational target.

 

Skills, Education, Experience:

  • Preferably, educated to HNC/HND level in engineering with electrical or control systems bias.
  • Experience as a PLC Controls Engineer with circuit design, PLC programming and fault finding with exposure to and use of Servo control systems and robotics.
  • Knowledge of CE Marking process and the Machinery Directive.
  • Customer focused with good communication skills both verbally and written.
  • High attention to detail with good analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement and working practices.
  • Flexible, team focused willing to show initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and diagnostic ability both reactive and proactive.

Hours of Work

Monday - Thursday8.00am - 5.00pm
Friday:8.00m - 2.30pm

CNC Machinist

Due to a substantial increase in business and high customer demand, we have opportunities available, to increase our internal capacity in our world class CNC facility; working on either our small CNC machines or our large 84 & 85 CNC machines.

 

Focusing on:

You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines.  Loading and running programs through prove out according to the tools list and works instructions, producing a valid first-off component and having it verified, loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection, checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-years previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines.
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc controls.
  • Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.

 

Desirables:

  • Mechanical Engineering Manufacture Apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ3 Award, BTEC or City & Guilds qualification in engineering at Advanced Level.
  • Can do attitude with team working ethos.
  • A high level of IT literacy.

Scope:

This is an ideal opportunity for a Production / Process Graduate Engineer with some manufacturing precision engineering looking to join and have a lasting impact within an innovative and industry leading company.

The Engineer should bring with them an ability to lead and manage change by using lean techniques and continuous improvement techniques to improve the quality, productivity and output of the factory.

 

Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the primary function of the role will be to:

 

  1. lead, and mange process capability improvement, eliminate waste, drive customer satisfaction, and improve working capital performance through the use of lean and six sigma tools.
  2. Provide technical expertise to evaluate existing processes and configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve machine reliability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment.
  3. Research, justify and implement new equipment and techniques including automation solutions, to improve quality and efficiency resulting in higher yields and increased output.
  4. Support day-to-day operations of the factory.

 

Essentials:

  • Hold a formal qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering preferably to degree level.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment making precision mechanical components.
  • The Production Engineer must have a strong “can do” attitude and high work ethic.
  • Ability to lead, manage and engage with all employees whilst successful implementing projects.
  • Desire to grow and develop their career within the organisation.
  • Excellent organisation, administrative and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

 

Desirables:

  • Knowledge and experience of volume manufacture.
  • Metal cutting knowledge an advantage.
  • Conversant with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement techniques such as 5s, Kaizen, Kanban, structured problem solving and cell manufacture.
  • Training in Six Sigma preferred but not essential as training would be provided internally.
  • Experience in project management an advantage.
  • Preferably CAD literate specifically in Solid works though training will be available.

Technical Sales & Applications Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Sales Manager, the role of Internal Sales Applications Engineering will focus on:

 

Scope:

Working in the Technical Sales Department supporting our customers, branch offices and overseas agents with technical questions application advice, and product capability on the full range of HepcoMotion products, by phone, Skype, email and any other appropriate platform.

Specifying suitable products to the requirement of a specific application and quoting appropriate parts; to include dealing with necessary modifications and special items.  Also producing selling proposals where appropriate to support our offer.

Extensive CAD work using SolidWorks to take concepts and sketches from our customers into full manufacturing drawings.

Design work related to configurable product ranges to show the customer the exact product they will receive and to prepare for manufacture.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • An aptitude for the working of Machine Mechanisms
  • Good Mathematical Skills
  • Strong working knowledge of SoildWorks or similar CAD packages

The successful candidate should ideally be educated to HNC level and have served a recognised Engineering Apprenticeshio or similar in a relevant engineering qualicfication.  We will alos consider candidates who have achieved A’ Levels in Mathematics and Physics at Grade C or above.

Experience in a Sales environment would be beneficial, although fill training will be provided.

 

Essential Pre-Requisites:

  • a ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Good telephone manner
  • A friendly, outgoing personality

 

Hours of Work:

Monday – Friday:   9.00am – 5.00pm   35-hours per week

CNC Turner – Cell Machinist

Due to a substantial increase in business and high customer demand, we have 2 opportunities available using our Vertical Turning Centres, to increase our internal capacity in our world class Ring Cell facility.  Full training will be provided.

 

Focusing on:

Manufacturing customer orders on our circular motion product range using vertical and horizontal turning centres, along with other large format ring grinding/turning machines.  Loading, setting and running programs through initial prove out simulation according to the requirements of production documentation.  Producing valid first-off component and having it verified or self-inspected using our CMM (with training).  Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection, checking set ups/first off against drawings and specifications to ensure orders are manufactured accurately and to the highest quality standards.

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-years previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines.
  • Proven experience of milling and turning on CNC centres.
  • Fully conversant with Fanuc programming controls.
  • Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques

 

Desirables:

  • Proven engineering background in a similar environment.
