ELECTRO-MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

We are currently on the lookout for an ambitious Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will interact with several departments to ensure that our manufacturing processes continues to deliver world class products as efficiently as possible through efficient preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown response and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing areas. You will deliver manufacturing targets by ensuring the process equipment is maintained to a world class standard. The maintenance group will assist in projects to deliver quality, productivity, safety and cost reductions.

Role

  • Ensure manufacturing process equipment is available and maintained to the correct standard.
  • Participate in multi-functional projects taking on and delivering specific actions and tasks.
  • Trouble shoot equipment and process issues, and repair equipment to ensure day to day manufacturing issues are resolved and actioned in a timely manner.
  • Complete essential preventative maintenance tasks and willing to work shifts when required
  • Analyse daily equipment metrics and use data driven decisions to improve processes and generate reports to document.
  • Work with other departments to develop and improve current process equipment and systems to deliver change and improve key metrics.

Skills

  • Good Electro-Mechanical knowledge of process and equipment maintenance. (Will consider Multi-skilled candidates)
  • Working knowledge of control systems including Siemens. (Would be desirable but not essential)
  • Hands on experience of manufacturing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting issues within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working within a precision engineering manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential. (Will also consider candidates from FMCG, Food processing or Distillery)
  • Previous experience of working within a team delivering projects is essential.
    As a minimum an HNC, 18th Edition or Time –Served

The successful candidate will work a permanent dayshift. Daily duties will be aligned with our operational needs for the appropriate raw materials to be available at their point of use as scheduled by production.

Role:

·         Loading materials (in bar or billet form) to the Lathes and moving bar stock from our High Bay Warehouse Facility to the Turning Cell.

·         Palletising finished work in preparation for shipment to Heat Treatments and protecting using waterproof film.

·         Clearing swarf and chips from machines and emptying chip bins into scrap metal skips.

·         Unloading/loading commercial vehicles.

·         Machine minding and carrying out fettling and deburring operations.

·         Verifying incoming raw materials by checking weight, bar sizes and specification.

·         Previous experience in the use of counter balance forklift / Combi lift preferred

Role:

As the Quality Inspector you will provide quality control support to the production team by troubleshooting using an array of in depth inspection techniques on a daily basis. We have a high mix environment, so will be need to be comfortable working with a broad spectrum of parts.

This role is a key part of the quality team ensuring our reputation for quality is maintained at a high standard. You will support adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001:2015) by approving materials, in-process production and finished parts.

In addition to manual inspection work, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits, calibration activities and involvement in CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action).

Responsibilities:

  • To complete a programme of training to be conducted within the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Measurement and inspection of turned, ground and assembled components.
  • To conduct in-process/final inspection activity and maintain accurate records.
  • To assist in improving the process capability of machined components.
  • Conduct and record calibration and auditing activities.
  • Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Quality Manager.

Essentials:

  • To be able to read and use manual inspection equipment including micrometre’s, Vernier’s and protractors.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Highly motivated
  • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in either a quality focused roll or time served within manufacturing.

MCS CELL MACHINIST

We are offering an opportunity to join our MCS cell, which performs an important end-to-end manufacturing process for our aluminium profiles.

Responsibilities:

The process manufacture of scheduled plans, both written and verbal, to include cutting and machining aluminium profiles, small assembly and some final inspection activities for both stock and customer orders.  This role will involve the use of aluminium cutting saws, a small abrasive wheel saw and Rambo 3-axis CNC machine.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of metalwork and related properties
  • Mechanical skills including cutting and straightening
  • Experience of manual handling and lifting techniques
  • Ability to differentiate between product types
  • Fully understand and follow instructions both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail

Hours of Work

Monday - Thursday7am - 4pm
Friday7am - 12 noon

39 hours

The successful applicant will be expected to be flexible and to work the required hours to succeed in the role.

DESIGN ENGINEER

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Research & Development team as a Design Engineer.

Reporting to the Design Manager, this position will suit an engineer with at least an HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject together with experience in a design/engineering role.

Responsibilities:

  •   Assist lead engineer in the development of our product range
  •   Maintenance of design records
  •   Collect, collate and analyse test records
  •   Assist lead engineer to implement agile design practices
  •   Implement and administrate new designs and updates

The successful candidate will be able to assist in the creation and documentation of designs using CAD tools, to identify where calculations and tests are required, and to perform and document these calculations and tests.  They will exhibit a degree of technical competence, computer literacy, and have a strong work ethic.  They will also have good written and verbal communication skills.

The position will require the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD CAD programs, and experience of these packages would be an advantage, although training will be provided to candidates experienced with other design tools.

Hours of Work

Mon - Fri9.00am - 5.00pm

35 hours per week.

CNC TURNING SETTER OPERATOR

Responsibilities:

• Setting CNC lathes to produce rings
• Selecting correct programmes for manufacture
• Identifying and setting tooling on machine centres
• Running batch work and checking dimensions using a CMM
• Maintaining machine to our TPM requirements
• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment

Skills:

• Understanding engineering drawings
• Ability to follow process instructions
• Understanding of basic G code (Fanuc) programmes
• Knowledge of the turning process
• Ability to use measuring equipment
• Basic IT knowledge

A basic level of engineering machining experience will provide a good foundation for training on specific use of machines and other job functions.

Hours of Work

Monday - Wednesday4pm - 2am
Thursday4pm - 1am

39 hours
