We have a requirement to add a Mechanical Inspector to join an established team based in Braintree.

 

Scope:

  • Skilled in the use of manufacturing inspection instruments and methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined components.
  • Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality requirements.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Positive attitude combined with a ‘common sense’ approach.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision.
  • Training will be provided as required.

Essentials:

  • Be able to use first principle inspection of machined components.
  • To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software.

Due to a substantial increase in business and high customer demand, we have 2 opportunities available using our Vertical Turning Centres, to increase our internal capacity in our world class Ring Cell facility.  Full training will be provided.

 

Focusing on:

Manufacturing customer orders on our circular motion product range using vertical and horizontal turning centres, along with other large format ring grinding/turning machines.  Loading, setting and running programs through initial prove out simulation according to the requirements of production documentation.  Producing valid first-off component and having it verified or self-inspected using our CMM (with training).  Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection, checking set ups/first off against drawings and specifications to ensure orders are manufactured accurately and to the highest quality standards.

 

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-years previous experience in setting and operating CNC machines.
  • Proven experience of milling and turning on CNC centres.
  • Fully conversant with Fanuc programming controls.
  • Experience of reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
  • Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques

 

Desirables:

Projects Team Machinist

Our Engineering Team is looking for an experienced machinist to join them to support with tool making and special purpose machine projects as follows:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Machine parts to specifications using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as Micrometers and Vernier callipers.
  • Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine the methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Set controls to regulate machining, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make or repair machine tools.
  • Prepare working sketches for the illustration of product appearance.

 

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Have an understanding of relevant Health & Safety issues pertaining to the relevant trade discipline.
  • Good knowledge of machine safety requirements.
  • Ability to adhere to departments Risk Assessments and safe working practices.

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Natural problem solver who seeks innovative customer focused solutions to complex problems.
  • In order to work closely with, and across a range of roles and levels within the company you will need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Highly numerate and able to analyse and present data in a clear and concise manner.
  • A clear understanding and experience of delivering continuous improvement is required, ideally this means previous experience of Lean process methodologies and techniques, or project management experience (a qualification in either would be advantageous).

An opportunity has arisen for a Raw Material Controller to join our busy Goods/Stores Department.  You will be responsible for receiving goods from suppliers and assisting with the smooth delivery of raw materials from stock to our production and manufacturing cells.

Production Engineer

Scope:

This is an ideal opportunity for a Production / Process Graduate Engineer with some manufacturing precision engineering looking to join and have a lasting impact within an innovative and industry leading company.

The Engineer should bring with them an ability to lead and manage change by using lean techniques and continuous improvement techniques to improve the quality, productivity and output of the factory.

 

Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the primary function of the role will be to:

 

  1. lead, and mange process capability improvement, eliminate waste, drive customer satisfaction, and improve working capital performance through the use of lean and six sigma tools.
  2. Provide technical expertise to evaluate existing processes and configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve machine reliability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment.
  3. Research, justify and implement new equipment and techniques including automation solutions, to improve quality and efficiency resulting in higher yields and increased output.
  4. Support day-to-day operations of the factory.

 

Essentials:

  • Hold a formal qualification in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering preferably to degree level.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment making precision mechanical components.
  • The Production Engineer must have a strong “can do” attitude and high work ethic.
  • Ability to lead, manage and engage with all employees whilst successful implementing projects.
  • Desire to grow and develop their career within the organisation.
  • Excellent organisation, administrative and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

 

Desirables:

  • Knowledge and experience of volume manufacture.
  • Metal cutting knowledge an advantage.
  • Conversant with Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement techniques such as 5s, Kaizen, Kanban, structured problem solving and cell manufacture.
  • Training in Six Sigma preferred but not essential as training would be provided internally.
  • Experience in project management an advantage.

Design Engineer

To focus on:

Qualification/Experience:

Reporting to the Design Manager, this position will suit an engineer with a degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject together with a number of years experience in a design/engineering role.

The successful candidate will be able to create and document designs using caD tools, to identify where calculations and tests are required, and to preform and document these calculations and tests.  They will exhibit a high degree of technical competence, computer literacy, and have a strong work ethic.  They will also have good written and verbal communication skills.

 

The position will require the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD CAD programs, and experience of these packages would be an advantage, although training will be given to candidates experience with other design tools.

 

Hours of Work:

Monday – Friday:                                 9.00 am – 5.00 pm

35-hours per week

 

Although the successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and to work the required hours to succeed in the role.

  • Will assist with online advertising and search engine optimisation across all markets.
  • Will assist the Marketing team with general administration and other activities as required
  • Distribution of content to internal staff, sales team and distributors
  • Will have creative input for print material related projects
  • Adding and updating content to social media
  • Collating and presenting data in relation to the departments KPI’s and organisational requirements

Essentials:

  • A Level / BTEC in Graphic Design or Marketing
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Highly motivated
  • Creative flair
  • To be I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft Office
