HR Advisor

Location: Tiverton, Devon
Contract: Full Time

Scope:

Working independently and reporting to the Group Human Resources & Administration Manager, the HR Advisor will be responsible for providing vital generalist day-to-day operational support, including but not limited to the delivery of the HR goals and objectives, absence management, employee relations matters and support for Line Managers. Providing high quality, locally focussed HR advice and service as well as working on group-based projects, the HR Advisor will work in close conjunction with the HR Manager and the HR team to deliver the HR service across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to colleagues and managers working within our policies and procedures to achieve positive outcomes
  • Undertake exit interviews for leavers and administrate the leaver’s process
  • Audit and review HR policies, procedures, and documentation on a regular basis in line with legal obligations or business requirements
  • Overseeing and assisting with investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes to endeavour to resolve at informal level wherever possible. Escalate all processes to the HR Manager for initial input
  • Prepare template letters, documentation and forms necessary for the HR Admin team to complete for employees (e.g. invitations to hearings, flexible working requests, letters of correspondence etc)
  • Supporting the company and the HR Manager with improving attendance for all employees including long-term sick leave
  • Assisting the HR Manager with the upkeep of company policies and procedures and implementation of new/amended procedures
  • General HR related tasks/project work as directed by and with the consultation of the HR Manager

Key Skills:

  • Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, team worker with a can-do attitude
  • Minimum CIPD Level 3 in Human Resources Practice or similar or substantial professional experience
  • Administration experience and preparation of contractual documentation
  • Previous understanding/appreciation of HRIS
  • Strong focus on accuracy, attention to detail and quality
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • Strong I.T. skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 including Teams and hosting meetings online
  • Problem solver, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Approachable, with a calm and professional demeanour with an interest in developing people

Hours of Work:

30 – 35 hours per week worked over 5 days.

We can offer flexibility on working hours; we may also support home working however our main preference is for daily support to meet our operational and business needs.
