MAINTENANCE APPRENTICESHIP

We are looking for a Lv2 Engineering Apprentice leading to a Lv3 Maintenance Apprenticeship with a keen interest in engineering, automation and robotics to join the maintenance team at our Tiverton site. This is a unique opportunity for an Advanced Apprenticeship that will provide full on the job training on site and day-release at Exeter College, leading to nationally recognised qualifications.

Applicants will ideally have:

  • 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above to include Maths and English.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To complete a programme of training within our Maintenance Department
  • To become skilled in maintenance activities and to fully understand and apply Health and Safety whilst working on and repairing any/all machines on site
  • To gain a full understanding of Hepco machines and how they operate
  • Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of equipment.
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Carrying out tasks and duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager that are calculated to contribute to the requisite levels of performance and competence

Skills:

  • A keen interest in an engineering discipline
  • IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Highly motivated and organised
  • Aptitude for practical science or engineering skills

Hours of Work

Mon - Thu7.30am to 4.00pm
Friday7.00am to 12noon

39 hours per week

The successful applicants will be flexible over working hours and willing to undertake shift working should this be a requirement on completion of their apprenticeship and may differ to a standard Monday to Friday day shift.
